Official Rules

No purchase necessary.

You must be at least 18 years of age to enter photos into this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law.

Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.

The Basics:
This contest is intended just for fun, and often carries zero monetary value, nor any physical prize. The ‘prize’ is that each week’s winning photo could appear in a 15-second winner’s television spot that airs on WFTV Channel 9 and is archived on the website. In addition, the winning pet and its human may have ‘bragging rights’ within your family and circle of friends.

How to Enter:
You’ll need to register within the contest before you can submit photos. Just click on the “registration” tab and fill out the form. Registration is only required once, and then you’re free to add more photos and leave comments. There is a limit of entering ten (10) photos per day. The icFlorida.com staff or editor will select the finalists for each voting session.

Voting:
Registration is not required to vote. Click the “voting” tab see the choices. Scroll through the selections and vote for your favorite.

Voting is limited to 5 votes per day/per user/IP address. Any act of deception to vote more than 5 times per day/per IP address is considered against the contest rules and will result in voiding of said votes and/or disqualification of the contestant photo in violation of the rule.

Each voting period typically lasts about one week (ex: Friday through the following Thursday). However, during some holidays there are occasionally contest periods that may extend to two weeks.

Automated electronic voting generated by any non-human method is not permitted.  If it is discovered that automated, non-human voting methods are being used then the candidate(s) receiving such votes are subject to disqualification from the contest as those votes will be deemed invalid.

Winning & Notification:
The photo with the most votes at the close of the voting period is the winner.  Winners are NOT officially notified if their pet photo wins. If the email address you used to register is accurate, you may receive a courtesy notification that your photo won.

Occasionally, the contest is sponsored.  When the contest is sponsored, there may be a prize awarded.  In the event that there is a prize, the winning registered entrant will be contacted via telephone by a representative from either icFlorida.com/WFTV-TV or the sponsor company to arrange award of the prize.

When to Watch:
The winning photo will be featured in the weekly Great Pets Pic of the Week television spot. The 15-second spot will typically air during the final commercial break of the WFTV News at Noon, each Friday, and may also air randomly at additional times. There is NO GUARANTEE that the spot will air.  An online version of the same spot will be available online at the Great Pets section at WFTV.com.

Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.

Entrants further grant to WFTV-TV the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.

WFTV-TV reserves the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
